O man my truck is one big wiring mess...wires that go to nothing..some just cut up...other go place just hard to trace.....anyway..for inspection i needed to get my windseild washer pump (WWP) working. Well we got it to work but it works on all the wiper settings. Well we got that all sorted out and now theres another prob the solenoid i guess youd call it isnt comming on to tell the pump to come on. I cant seem to get power to the solinoid. One wire (Pink) is on all the time the other wire (white) isnt getting any power at all. I no this was hard to follow and think about if you dont have the truck or the WWP handy to look at but does any body have any usefull info to help me out????

You say the pink is on all the time? are you talking 24v hot? The white would be the common wire. Try switching around the wires or maybe you have a short somewhere in the line when you reinstalled it. Do you have a meter? if so pull both wires and oem the solenoid or check for resistance.

Just curious... What type of inspection test the wiper washer pump? can you just take the pump out for the inspection?

Sounds like some other owner of your truck really messed with the wiring. I am not really any help on wiring but I do know the ground wires can really mess you up. Wiring can drive you crazy at times. (as I am sure you now know) I hate it when I buy a car or truck and there are wires going no where and just hanging down. When I bought my '86 it too had the wires messed up and a lot of wires hanging. For some unknown reason the turn signal behind the grill was taken out and the wires with the bulbs working were just taped behing the bumper. (The blinked but you could not see them) This did not make any since. The horn did not work. Pump to the windshield washer was missing. Front bumper was missing two brackets holding the bumper on. I can go on and on. Why do people just do away with the front turnsignals? Well, why did this guy do anything. I guess he did not. Oh yel, the belt on driver side has the lap belt missing. (cut off??) I still have to figure out why the back up lights do not work. I too still have to get the pump on the washer to work. Good luck on yours. Sorry I was no help. Just had to vent. But I did get the truck at a good price. You can bargain when you point these problems out. But there were more than I first thought. But it is coming along. Again, good luck.

i totally rewired my project w/ painless system...

but, i'm trying to wire my wiper switch... painless gave me 4 different diagrams... hmmm, where to start!?!?!

i guess we all need a staples "easy button"
