Rear Leafs - are 70's the same as 73's?
I have a 70 with rear leafs and I want to flip kit the rear but I've only been seeing kits for the 73 and up trucks. Will these work or are the leafs different in some way?

Nope your leafs are wider (or visa/versa). Check with any of the board vendors or ECE. They have the flip kit for 67-72 leafs.

Are you sure about that? My ECE catalog doesn't have a flip kit for 67-72 and I've looked at a bunch of the vendor sites and found nothing there either. All I've seen is the flip kits for 73 and up.

That's new to me too. I went with a drop shackle and Dearched springs. To get a 5" + drop.

How does it ride with the dearched springs? I need to look into that as an option. Did you C-notch the frame?

I have not driven it yet. Should be on the road in the next month at most.
I think it's going to ride really nice. It has to ride better than stock being closer to the ground. I have drop shocks desigend to work with a 6" drop which will also help out. Just need to find a set of hedders that the collectors wont get ripped off. I have a set of Chevelle shorts but the hit the motor mounts. I am either going to cut the hedders and make em fit or get a set of motor mounts from Norhtwest Auto Fab. Then finish up th ebrake lines and I can take it for a ride. 4 yearsin the build up I cant wait to drive it ! The spring work costed me $115 Cdn. That included 4 new bushings pressed in. The dearching was like $20 per side. I took them the spring pack in and told them to take 3" out of them. The said no problem. No notch here. I have around 3" between the frame and axel and the rubber bumper is about 2" from hitting the frame. The is a member Powell72 he has a 6" coil drop and has 2.5" between the frame and axel and he had no complaints. I personally would not feel good about riding around with a bolt in notch. I would rather smack the rubber bumper off the axel. Mabye this winter I might weld in a C notch but I would want to box the frame in from in front of front hanger to behind the rear hanger.

i took my truck to Deep South Springs to have my leaf springs dearched. They lowered the truck 4 inches around 2 years ago and i have not had a problem . The truck rides fine but I have not tried putting a serious load in the bed.

I think that Dearching the springs would show the load alot sooner than with the stock contour.
