Question Sounds like a signal switch....

I'm sure i am a fool for not knowing this. I have a 78 C10 and my brake lights, turn signals and 4-way flashers all went at the same time. I tried fuzes because they are the easiest and that didn't work so now i have to put forth some effort. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

Larry

lights

sound's like a bad ground somewhere to me,,way i usually check it is run a long wire directly from - post on battery all the way to back of vehicle,,then find the ground wire for your light's as close as possible to the light's,,skin the ground wire just enough to touch the two together..or stick a sharp needle thru ground wire and touch your wire to needle..tell's you real quick if it's a ground problem or not..

Larry, it seems strange that nothing at all works. Most of the time when a signal switch goes, you loose one or two lights, but not everything. Make sure to check the right fuses, you should have one for the signals and one for the brake lights/four ways. Many times the old glass fuses(which you should have on a 78) will burn or break down in the end where you can't see it. They were also bad about corroding. Also be sure to check all the bulbs and both flashers. Not saying it can't be the switch, just be sure to check all the other stuff too. Hope that helps.

Another Place To Check Is The Wire Harness Under The Hood To Were It Connects To The Fuze Box That May Have Worked Loose And Not Making A Good Connection There Will Be A Bolt Taht Could Be Loose Or The 3 Or 4 Diffrent Connectors Clip In. Good Luck
