Cool

Take the speedomter cable loose, oil line if it has guage, there are two bolts under the dash that hold the colume up, loosen them take the screws out of the front of the dash, take the knobs off. Steering colume should drop down after taking the two bolts loose. pul the dash toward you and unplug the wiring harness, and it should come right out. There nothing to it.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I've never had to drop the column, it is tight, but never had a problem.

actually dropping the column has nothing to do w/ removing the dash, you're making more work for yourself.disconnect your speedo and oil line like andy said and back out the screws on your dash bezel(8 of 'em)and remove the wiper knob&bezel, reach onder dash to the light switch and depress the little button on the top of the square light assembly.before you depress the button pull out your light switch to the parking lights position, now depress the little button on the underside as you pull the knob all the way out.the stem comes out w/ the knob.now you can get to the "lights"bezel and remove it. your dash will fall forward. pinch the wire connection into the back of the dash and take it out.steering wheel or column drop might give you more room, but is not necessary.just got done doin' this myself a couple of wks. ago.

Those with stock tach need to drop the steering column as tach needs more room to tilt out. I pulled one on a parts truck once without dropping column, broke the bezel and had to do a little bending on truck. (not worth it)

From my parting experiences non tach no drop column. With Tach easier with column down a hair, you can get it out but its forcing it,unless you dont care about the bezel.but column is only 2 bolts so it only takes a second, aint that worth a tach?

I can remove and replace my tach dash with cloumn in place. It's just a litle tighter than with a non tach dash. No biggie.
