Lower Rad Hose..... Help !

I have a small block with a long water pump in the stock 8 position. 4 Core rad. What hose will fit ?
I don't have any originals around to see if they would possibly work.

Any help would be great.

just try a stock one for a 73up truck. i have a sb400 w/ long pump and a aluminum rad and i got a hose that fit the first time

What rad are you using ? Is it a bolt in ? I got a 73 up hose today and it does not fit. The lower neck is curved up unlike the 73 rad.

Any one else have this problem ?

Had to trim some off both end, iirc. Here's some pics.

If your rad has a straight output the "Dayco 70735 ( length code E )" hose will work with a little trimming on both ends. If you don't trim it it won't fit without bending & kinking. Can't remember how much has to be cut off exactly maybe an inch or so off each end. you can always cut more off, but you can't put it back on, so trim & try till it fits. I'm not sure about the rad with the upward angled output. Hope this helps, and I feel your pain brother. I'm still having nightmares about trying to find the right hose.

Try a NAPA number 7352 for the bottom, it fits curved lower outlet and has hump to clear the high spot on the frame, it will need trimming on one or both ends, and try a NAPA 7368 for the top, it will need triming too.

If your asking me, I'm talkin about the lower rad hose . ( lower hose, long water pump, and straight out not upward angled rad output aplication) I'm sure that's the correct part #. After the grief I went through finding a hose to fit, I put the sticker off it on the back of a door in my shop. I think it's the hose for the 73 & up trucks, but not posative. Freds pic looks to me like the stock type rad output that angles upward. I'm pretty sure it's a different hose than the one I'm talkin about and won't fit a straight output rad. If I get the time, I'll finally maybe learn how to post pic's and you'll see the differnce. I hope I'm not confusing people. I wasn't exactly sure what rad Mario was talking about so I thought I'd tell what worked for me with my component combination. If it don't help him it might help others.

I understand what you are saying. When I get to a aluminum rad the 73 up hose which I have already bought will fit. I ordered a stock 72 lower hose and It should work with the long water pump.

I just bought one today on the way home from the shop for a 1992 Camaro 350 with Tuned Port Injection. I bought a stock 4-core radiator (bottom outlet turns up a bit). It looks very close to the wire hanger I bent to get the general shape of the required hose. I'll see if it fits tomorrow and let you know....

Stock lower hose off the 73 & later series truck. Trimmed some off both ends.We had a good thread on this a few months ago. Too bad the search is still down.

Yep, it fit but not real great. Had to cut about 1" off the water pump side and compress the center of the hose to keep it from crimping.
