Another Rare part

Another Rare part is the Tie Down Unit or (Hand Rail Unit)
Group 17.090 Part # 993960
I tried to order one for my truck years ago and the part # had been superseded numerous times. I ordered one anyway, not knowing what I was getting, and when I recieved it it had the original part # on the box. Fits both stepside or fleetside long or shortbed.
Cut to size. Loogs good and is a good tie down for securing loads.

I'd like to see a pic too. I have a nos set of bedrails (The kind that are aluminum, with woodgrain decals, and stainless stands), and wondered if they were an option on our trucks. Some say yes, some say no, but you see alot of them on '70s and early '80s trucks.

Hand rail tie down option

What you are describing is exactly what I have on my truck.
I'm not sure it was an option or not. It is in the parts book though.
It may be a dealer installed option or it may just be over the counter owner installed accessary. I will look in the parts book and see if they give it an option code. I am the original owner of my truck, but I did not order that on it originally.

I bought my truck new from the dealer, but not with those on it. I bought them over the counter and added them 10 or 15 years later. My 1972 Parts book unfortunately does not have the option code page in it. The later parts book I have (1973-1976) shows that as option D73 stating 1976. Need someone to look up an see if there was a D73 option on the old trucks. If not then it was an over the counter assy. They are listed in the September 1971 parts book though-Definately avallable

Bed Rail Package

Mines installed on my stepside 4X4. Nice looking package. Also a very sturdy tie down unit.
