what are you using for outside rearview mirrors?

What kind of mirrors are you using and where did you mount them? I wanted something different that I've not seen before so I put a 1986 trans-am mirror on my 69 GMC works pretty good. It was a BI!$# to put it on but it worked out good.

If you like it, that is all that matters.

I think there are better choices

I like the earlier GM sport mirrors with the remote. I found a pair from a ??? with short remote cables on each mirror - usually the passenger side has none or a very long cable.

They all look the same but there are several different ones - short stands, tall stands, big mirror heads, small mirror heads(Chevette), and swept back stands. To make it more interesting GM went metric with the mounting studs sometime also - no big deal - just use the proper hardware. The stands also seem to have different mounting angles along with different gaskets.

Then you get into the remote mounting method and grommets - more choices.

Don't forget to mount it so you can open the wing window (both sides) and still see something in the mirror.

They are a pain but look good and are different.

you can use the 96 and a few years before f150 sport mirrors, they mount on the door, and i've seen them on everything old from rams to f100s

also old model ford escort and and mustangs had nice mirrors on the doors.

89 escort^^^

93 mustang, not all models have these mirrors?

I didn't have mirrors on the outside either until the other day I hauled some stuff in the back and couldn't see with the rear view. I said "I got to get some outside mirrors!" so I dropped off the stuff and went straight to the junkyard and got the Camaro mirror. It cost me a whole $6.99 and an evening of mounting it.

Did GM (or anyone) make a remote mirror that looks anything like the sport mirrors on the 72 trucks? Maybe something a little bit bigger?

My white-painted West Coast mirrors are heading for the porch and something cool-looking is in order.

I don't care if it came on a 63 Valiant--If it works it works...

Show us our pics!

you can get old bullet style mirrors from old stngrays, olds 442's, chevelles, mustangs... they fit right into the muscle car era and early 70's so perfect for our trucks.
