well, after few weeks, finally interior is almost done. The most satifaying part is that i made everything or restor everything myself but CD player.

looking good. Only thing that makes me cring a little is that din mounted CD player. Tell me the previous owner did it and you just went with it?

I agree. I need to drop that column but somehow I am afraid of doing it!. Mabe after few other things.

The column will be easy. Once it's done you will wonder why you waited to do it.

. Whats "Now drop that column"...what is that? The dropped part is where I'm confused, what is that?

And whats wrong with the cd player?...just curious.

To pull the column you "drop" it. You unbolt it from the steering shaft, unhoook the shifter linkage, unplug the turn signal and neutral safety switch, and then unbolt the two bolt holding it "up" under the dash and lower it a bit and pull it out.
The thing with the CD Player is some people don't like to see stock dashes cut.

As far as the cd player I think it looks great! I'm a huge fan of taking the old and adding new. I guess there will be a whole lot of "Boooos" when I post pics of my truck after its finished.

yahh, I was de bating about cutting the dash but I couldn't find anything near orinigal whcih I liked therefore I ave up another part of virginity!. Thanks for the compliments though.

Like I normally say, I'm just looking for doors nice enough to cut up for 6X9 speakers.

The truck looks sweet. I say if you drop the column, then just go the whole 9 yards and install a van tilt.

the wheel tilts up and down...and you can get them for less than 100 bucks.

dont worry nima, i cut my dash too. just as long as you dont hack it it can always be fixed with a welder and metal from the yard. granted i wouldnt do it to a 50th or something worth doing a factory resto on but a original 250/sm465 truck is fine to modify

Truck looks great, don't sweat the CD player. It's YOUR truck after all. And keep your eyes open for a Van with a tilt column at the junk yards ( into the late 70's van tilts don't have the key in the column so they "bolt right in" ). I scored one for a buddy on Friday, it was a steal at $35.00, nice & tight too. When you get yours, we'll be here with advice on installation.

I would definetly be proud of that interior, if I had done as much as you say you have yourself.

Do not worry about these guys with their "don't cut the dash mentality".

There were thousands of these trucks built and very few will ever become "collectible" from an "original and nos correct restoration" standpoint.

There are no truly modern, high quality radios which will fit the factory opening, again the interior looks outstanding.
