How do you press on and off lower ball joints

What is the best way to do this without having to buy alot of parts.

Go to the parts store and rent a ball joint remover/installer tool. It will save you a lot of head aches.

I think Autozone rents tools for free...they charge you for the cost of the tool and refund it when you return it...looks like this...

Or if you want to buy one Northern tool carries them for $119.99 (Click here to go to Northern Tool)

Yeah I bought one a few yrs ago along with a bushing install/remover kit. I have used these quite a few times and they are well worth it. Try putting balljoints in without one!! It not fun!!! It can be done though but takes 10 X as long. RENT THE TOOL!!

Yup, the picture posted above exactly matches the tool that AutoZone rented me. It works great. And even though I had it for more than a month (slow progress is better than no progress ), they took it back and gave me all my money back. I wouldn't try it (again) without it!
