It may be an oddball, but it was all original. I just parted out a 68 custom cab, ac, auto, Longbed stepside. Had the molding on it and was all original and still had origianl paint. Body was shot on it.

I think it could be installed on a stepside - but the cab only. It would be very unusual to find one.

Hi Andrew,
I personally have never seen chrome on a stepside, I don't think it could of been an option. I know it wasn't from 73 and up when were in the CHEVROLET business. Take care Randy

Here is a truck on ebay that the auction just ended on. It is represented to be an origanal SWB Stepside 4X4 Cheyenne!! The only thing that I see cheyenne there is the cargo light!! It's not an origanal SWB either, it is probly a cut down frame or a Blazer feame!! Look at the distance between the cab and rear fender.... Too Short!!! Now check the vin numbers..... They begin with a CE!! That is the vin of a 2 wheel drive. 4X4s numbers begin with CK... WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Acording to the date coded paper work (restoration catalog from G.M.) that is how CST/Chyanne stepsides came...lower trim on the cab only.
Although, i don't think the upper was avaliable.

I love the GMC tailgate as well on a Chevy step. I wonder what VIN is on the frame? Could have been a transplanted cab from a 2wd to get that VIN on there. I doubt if very much of that truck is original. Just my nickel's worth....

From what I could decipher from the 1968 Chevrolet Salesman Data Book, you could get trim on a stepside.

i noticed in the description that it has ant lock brakes. this leads me to believe it was made up from a late model 4 wheel drive (probably blazer) and the bed was shortened to match wheelbase. clean piece but the bed seems out of porportion to me.

Man! Eleven-five for a rig that doesn't even have running boards to hang jerrycans on. The only trim that came from the dealer's on my truck was a radio delete plate.

Hey Andrew, hows that bed coming along?? BTW, Drew67 has a very nice 68 with lower trim. It was a fleetside, but now a stepside. Hope that body shop is doing you good, not like the last one! E-mail me, Joe
