Changed user name (re-introduction)

I have only been around for a few months and am finally getting the hang of things on the board. I recently changed my user name (formerly drivin' miss daisy), so I thought I would re introduce myself. My name is Darryl, I'm 34 married for ten years and have a four year old son. I was diagnosed with Early Onset Parkinsons Disease 2 years ago and am still learning to deal with shaking all of the time. Working on my truck has become my outlet and keeps my mind off of my disease. Messing with my truck allows me to prove to myself that I am still capable of doing things (sometimes it is pretty entertaining ). Anyway I am looking forward to getting to know everyone, getting help, and helping where I can.

Here is my 85 C-10 lwb

Darryl,
Welcome....uhh...back. I remember your old user name. I thought it was pretty funny. I always pictures Morgan Freeman in an old Chevy!!!

In an attempt to keep this funny and keep your spirits up.....and you brought up the 'shaking' factor of the disease.....
1) I bet 007 would have love having you around....."Shaken - Not Stirred!!"
2) If this were the '70s, would you have the 'hippy-hippy shakes'??

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Just keep working on that truck with your son. He will treasure the memories.

Thanks all,

Slams 58, believe me there is no shortage of "help" from the boy when I'm out working on the truck, lol. He even has his own special stool so he can see the engine. He has definately developed a love for the old truck too. I hope he stays interested in it.

Putter thanks! I have found that making jokes about my shaking helps others around me feel more comfortable, not to mention there have been some pretty humorous moments. I can make some great mixed drinks! Keep em coming!
Thanks again

DMD is my all time favorite! Welcome back! I wish you the best. My uncle had Parkinsons, it always amazed me how he could work on Volkswagons for a living and he was always able to start bolts /nuts better than most, and he was pretty accurate with a gun.
