4-speed to th350 conversion.
I am sure this has been covered so, sorry to post an already beaten to death subject... but the forum search is not working.
I had thought about installing a 700r4 in my truck but I think I am just going to build up a th350 instead. I guess I will need a Th350 with all of it's linkage, flexplate ect. and a np 205 with the factory adapter. My question is, is this just a straight bolt in, without moving the transfer case Xmember or modifing drivelines? And secondly can anyone tell me a certain donor year range that will work best as the 69-72 4x4's are in pretty short supply around here. Thanks for your help on what I am sure is already a heavily hashed over subject.

So do you have a 4-speed manual in your truck now? The changeover is pretty straightforward, as long as you can find a truck with all of it's drivetrain. That should be pretty easy as well, because these two versions were definately the most common available for these trucks.
Good luck, Buddy

why not put in a th400? They are stronger and IMO a better tranny.
