Torquer S/R 305 heads vs. Stock 305 heads
Which head would be better for a 307? I have a shot 305 from a 77 Camaro so I've already got the stock 305 heads, but I was wondering if it'd be worth $650 for a set of Torquer S/R 305 heads. No matter which of the two I get I'm gonna try to port them myself. Trying the cheap route here, but am willing to pay a little if the power is worth it.

If it was me, and it's not (I ditched the 307 for a 350), I'd play with the free ones first. See what they get you. If they are from a H.O. version and you bump the cam a little, you might be pleased. Just don't expect to blow anyones doors off (except the guy with the stock 307). I was always curious to see what could be done with the 307 with a head and cam swap. Just never wanted to spend the money to find out.

I know a guy who put 305 heads on a 307 and he said it really woke it up.I'm not sure if he changed the cam though. He said he used 4brl heads. Not sure if there's a difference.

Well, the 305 these heads are coming with was originally equipted with a 2bbl. carb which means they have smaller valves(I think). I'd absolutely love to ditch it for a 350, but it seems like everyone gets a 350. I like to fix up engines that people wouldn't usually fix up. That's why all the guys that I smoked in high school were always surprised that I beat'm with a 305. Has anyone used the Torquer S/R 305s? What are the flow numbers for a stock 305?
