I need a new a/c compressor

I have a bb with factory air.It needs a new compressor.Autozone has them allmost half the price of Napa. But are they too cheap?Anyone use one from autozone?I will also put on a new drier. The compressor may be good. The a/c was not working when I bought it.I have a friend who has a shop and works on a/c.I havn't asked him how much a compressor would be from him.

I have a auto-zone compressor I have been running for almost 10 years. Flush the system and use a new drier and you should be fine. Good luck,
Mike

I think the one on my dad's truck is an overhauled Harrison. He bought it at AutoZone almost 3 years ago w/ no problems. Flushed system & put new dryer and did a R134 conversion too...

That is what they are selling.I was on an a/c board yesterday, checking into what needs to be done to convert it to r-134.The board is run by an a/c parts supply house.Said to take the POA valve and turn a screw inside the poa 3/8th to 3/4th of a turn counter clockwise.Use a gauge to get the low side down to 28.

What were the prices? I need the same thing, and never really thought of Autozone as having them. . .

I got a phone quote from THESE GUYS for $80 for a compressor and $20 for a dryer. Shipping could eat up any savings for you, though.

You've got a much cooler Autozone than I do. Mine is $118 for the compressor/clutch and $30 for the dryer. The parts must be manufactured up there by you or something.
