Whew...thanks everyone for the replies!!! The cover is nothing but cabinet grade 1/2" plywood, jointed, and covered with f'glass resin, sanded, primed and painted. It is re-enforced underneath with a 2x4 frame and crossmembers. We laid the cover over the bed and scroll marked the outline from inside the bed, cut to fit and rested the whole thing on 1/2" alum angle down each bed side. I did run 2 center supports. Been on there 3 years now. It doesn't lift or anything, I think it's too heavy for that.

Sorry for the delay on the reply. Motor....305 (not a typo....84 Z/28 305) crane 274 cam, roller rockers, PJ gear drive, the usual stuff for small blocks. TH 350, 2500 stall, 3:08 gears.
If I fatten up the mixture on the Holley 600, and lower the idle just a hit, is sounds like a blown big block heh heh heh.....it stinks from fumes, but sounds great!!!
