Busted!

Last Tuesday after a high school basball game a couple of my friends decided to have a truck pull. My one friend has a 95 dakota with 318 and the other has a 84 chevy 1/2 ton with a 350 260hp crate motor. Once they got hooked up they started the pull off. the trucks dug into the gravel then 3 of the wheels started smoking. This went on for a little while. then i saw a cop drive by so i yelled for them to stop and unhook but it was too late. the cop pulled in and they both got $54 tickets for careless driving. The cop said the only way that he knew what was goin on is that the smoke was about 10 stories high. Then to top it off the cop treaten to give them more tickets like illgal towing if they didnt tell the cop about under age parties.
It was one of the coolest thing I've seen. Tell me what you guys think.

I did something like this back in HS only we went bumper to bumper for a shoving match. As a matter of fact it was after a basketball game too.

As I backed out to the right in my '74 2WD W/350 my friend on the left in his 72 Cutlass w/350 Olds backed out to his left. That left us facing each other and since neither one of us would move out of the other's way we eased forward till our front bumpers touched and then we just layed into it.

Both of us wound up with both of our rear wheels spinning. My spedometer showed no telling how much MPH on it. It definitley hit 2nd gear maybe 3rd. Needless to say we had smoke about 10 stories tall also.

I'm proud to report that Chevy won that night. I pushed him back about 2 feet. We also investigated our tire tracks which were on an asphalt parking lot. We held it down so long that my tires actually began to rip out chunks of ashpalt from the pavement.

When we left, my tires were so hot they picked up small pebbles off the asphalt and I could hear them hitting the bottomside of my truck bed. All this with no cops in sight.

Ahh, the memories.

the event took place on gravel so it was hard to get traction both truck ended up digging about 8 inches in the ground, so it was even.I was hoping the chevy would win. Noone want to match up against my truck, and thats probably a good thing. I was guessing that the tow rope would have broken right away. The only disadvantage the chevy had was it did have a posi rear end like the dakota other wise the chevy would have haul a$$. 15 years ago where i live the cop would have said take it out to the country none of this ticket stuff.

Reminds me of the time I got caught diving down the railroad tracks in my 78 K-20.I came to a intersection hoping I could make the crossing-light come on, instead a cop just happened to come along at the right moment. He just put his car in park and stared at me. As soon as tthe trucks frnt tires hit the intersection he turned his lights on!!! He was going to cite me for reckless driving on private property, but after digging thru his law book, he yelled a little and told me to go home.
