THE 307 Is alive!!!

Finnally got that thing going!!!
Haven't driven it yet.....and it needs to go to the muffler shop soon.

The only bummer so far about my new motor is that as it sat outside in the truck covered (so I thought) it got some rain water in it....it dripped into the distributor opening and straight down into the oil pan...
I drained the oil that I had put in there, let it drain for a few days. I know there is still some water in the motor....just a bit..WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!
I am thinking of running it a week or two, then dumping some motor flush in it to clean it out???? With the little bit of water in it however I think just running it will cause it to evaporate sooner or later.....

Is my new motor ruined????
I dont think it is, I have spoken to a few people and even my dad said that it will be ok.

Oh well....I'm not gonna cry about it I'm just gonna see what I can do ......AND DRIVE IT WHILE I FIGURE IT OUT!!!!
I'll get pics soon I promise!!!

I bet you will be fine also. Just make sure to get her up to operating temp for a good period of time to help make sure all moisture is gone. Maybe do another oil change a bit sooner than you had planned to be safe.

I know I know.....I need pics...well....look...i dont have access to a digital camera any more, so I need to develop some film and scan some images be patient lads!!!!!

well....I got it back from the pipe fitment and all is well....it has a deeper sound than that that worn 305....sounds nice and even.I got done with all the last minute details including buying the "right" water pump. I had bought one for a 70 1/2 ton with a V8....but i forgot that they did not come with PS!!!So the WP didn't have the threaded hole for the adjustment on the PS pump bracket!! couldn't return it so I had to buy one for a 78 1/2 ton with a V8 remember that when buying WP's. If anyone is interested I have a NON PS V8 water pump for sale WAS BRAND NEW (NOT REMAN) USED (slightly) and painted black $25 to your door. took Rusty and gave him a bath...he needed it after sitting for about three weeks. still need to fine tune the timing but that will happen in time. gonna go cruise it tonight.
