adjusting the hood

well, my hood isn't bent best we can all tell. but it doesn't come all the way down in the back. it doesn't even reach the bumpers. the hinges are adjusted all the way down. it was like this prior to changing the hinges. we put the new hinges and springs on but it still won't come all the way down in the back. its not even close, its like an inch or more off. its like, the back end doesn't have a chance to pivot down before the latch catches, but its all lined up in the front :wtf:

Do we need to drill the hinges out? daddy said we could do that if i wanted, but stupid me didn't take the chance then, so now i gotta beg for him to help me with it now. how else can we adjust it so the back sets down all the way?

Perhaps your hinges are worn out? Springs too stiff/old?

You CAN drill the hinges out, but this is just a band aid fix and not really resloving the real problem.

I would try to find another set of hinges (hopefully cheap), and see if that helps.

Lift the hood, lose'n the bolts on the henge to fender. Rock the hood all the way up ( push hood up till the henges rock all the way back then titen the bolts ) then readjust hood to henge bolts. It should take care of the problem. Rocking the henges back pulls the hood down at the back when you shut the hood. Matt
