The saga is over, maybe?
This will probably be longish, so I apologize. For christmas I got ECE drop spindles and springs. I tore my truck apart in Febuary and found out that the P/O went off roading or something and bent the lower control arm. After waiting on a company for 3 months to get me my control arms I abandoned them and searched from east coast to west coast trying to find a control arm. I really couldn't believe how hard it was to get one of these suckers. I eventually called ECE and they sent me to their supplier of used arms, Vintage Chevy, and had them 2 day shipped to my house. Got them on a friday, sand blasted till 3 am, painted and worked on saturday and spent all sunday putting my truck together. That night it sat on 4 wheels for the first time in 4 or 5 months. I coudln't believe it. Well, the next day it wouldn't run. Turns out my fuel lines barfed up a bunch of crap that would get lodged in the needle and seat and flood the motor. Ugh!! New fuel filter along with a rubber mallet to tap the top the the needle and seat solded that problem. New BFG Radial T/A's and I'm back on the road. It rides so much better without heated springs and constantly riding on the bump stops. I do wish it was a little higher though, like half a inch. There is only 1 way to get out of my driveway without scraping the shock mount on the control arm. Luckily now that schools out I can park across the street in their parking lot and not worry about it. The only draw back is the gas mileage, I kinda miss driving the cavalier. I need to get a motorcycle, bah! It sure feels nice to ride in a vehicle that gets thumbs up and second glances again!!!

Hey Brian, you can slip a 1/2" rubber spacer in the springs to give it a little lift. I've never done it before, but have heard of guys doing it. Maybe someone on here has used them???? ..............Jerry

those little rubber snubs that you can get at autozone didnt do to much for me-i would look into getting the aluminum cups or rubber cups.not sure where you get them but would search round track catalogs-my two cents

Just out of curiosity, I'd like to know how much drop you've got, and what size front tires you're running.
I know the feeling of finally getting a truck back on the road after spending far too long on jackstands in the garage. Congratulations!

I'll get good pics when I can, maybe I can take a camera phone picture in a little bit. So far I like the BFG's. I could tell you more about them if I had replaced all 4 corners, but I didn't have the money. It rides really nice on the highway, not a lot of roadnoise from the front. Tracks really nice. I still can't hook up worth **** cause of the crappy Road Huggers on the back. Thanks for the congrats!

Here ya go. Gah @ the redneck rake. It's growing on me though. Someone in the local car scene (we had a meet this weekend) said I had the best looking truck in Louisville and I said mine was nothing compared to what I've seen on this board. Nearly everyone here has more knowledge and hotter trucks than mine. Plus I didn't do much of the work besides dropping it and my constant struggle with my Holley.

Thanks. Yeah, I get tons of compliments on the stripe, it looks like marble when you get close to it. I like the ass-high look now. easier to tell if my fuel cell straps have decided to fall off again. ughhhh
