If I remember correctly, the ground wire that slingin mud mentioned is hooked to the park brake pedal assembly. If so, you might check the mounting bolts for the pedal assembly to make sure they are tight. I would also check the battery to body and engine to body grounds, and the main harness plug where it goes through the firewall. Hope that helps, best of luck.

ok so at lunch i put on a battery to body ground and an engine to body ground with no aval i also put in the new floor mounted dimmer and the wiring harness because the other was fried
now here we are when i turn on the headlights the blue high beam light is on in the dash but the highs are off when i turn the highs on the light goes out complete oppisote of what it suppose to do i also noticed i have no dash lights at all just the single heater light and the gas gauge still goes 1/2 past E i checked all fuses and grounds all seem good my next question is could it be the circut board on back of the instermunt cluster causing all of this including the gas gauge problem when i had it out it was rough i could plug in one light and five other would go out in the dashborad thanks

Yeah, they don't go out real often but if you've checked everything else, that really doesn't leave much more to check.
