WTB: '72 Suburban Tailgate Glass or stencil

After a 3 am dispute with a drunk stranger on my sister's porch, the drunk shot out the tailgate glass of my brother in law's '72 suburban. It's sad to see that truck now, the rest of the vehicle is original and in near perfect condition.

The trouble is, we can't find a replacement piece of tailgate glass to save our lives. It's flat glass, so a stencil would enable us to have one cut.

We're in Houston, Texas.

Anyone out there have any leads? Thanks!

Patrick, I have mine out right now so I could draw out a stencil for you. I am in NE. Texas, (longview) just cut it out of cardboard?

It might be a couple days as I have to get up to the shop to get it.

how would I get it to you without messing it up?

stencil

That would be awesome if you could do that. This glass seems to be extremely hard to come by. Cardboard sounds good, whatever you think. Those large plastic campaign signs make good stencil material too.

My parents will be returning from North Carolina sometime in the next few days, maybe they could meet you somewhere in Longview? Maybe buy you lunch and give you something for your time? I'll have to arrange that with them however.

Thanks!

found: tailgate glass

Thanks newin72 for the offer, but I was able to find some glass.

Someone from here kindly put me on to this guy near Atlanta who specializes in cutting and coloring glass for vintage cars. He's making it for $250.

The company is callled Vintage Glass and his phone number is 770-962-3068 if anyone is interested.

thanks everyone!
