What is the best way to remove the dealer logo that dealers put on the back of a car and trucks to show where you bought it? Thanks

If it's a vinyl lettering type, I find your fingernail works best. It won't scratch the paint too easily. You just need to be careful not to get the vinyl caught underneath the nail- ouch!

Park it facing the sun for a few hours, then use your finger nails.
Worked for me. Did it once in front of the dealer,he was mad as hell at me.

use a blowdryer or a heat gun, make it as hott as possible....it will then peel off easier....use alchohol or carb cleaner to wipe off the residue

i've done it several times....it will work for ya

It's how I took the one off of my Jeep right after I bought it. I've never been one for bumper stickers, either. No matter what your views on any subject are, it's bound to tee off someone on one side or the other. I don't need some wacko keying my vehicle because he doesn't like my bumper sticker. Plus, I prefer a cleaner look anyway.

be careful not to burn the paint if using a heat gun also some of the dealer logos were riveted on which will leave you with some holes. yikes!

If I knew of a dealer who riveted on ther logos, I would not buy from that dealer. None around here do that. I would just go to the next town. I will try not to get the paint too hot. Thanks

Here's a common one that I didn't see...fishing line. Thread it behind the emblem, like you're trying to floss behind it.

Monofilament line won't scratch the paint, and will saw through the adhesive. Heat on the adhesive will help this method too.

Tell 'em when you're buying that each occurence will cost $500.00. Get it on the sales contract. Make them initial the addition.

I know that's not what you're asking, & it's been almost 20 years since I bought from a dealer, but that's just a pet peeve of mine.

Dealer logos ?

Out in California if I were to buy a car/truck I would make the dealer remove the logo before even buying the vehicle !

Hey, doesn't carb cleaner usually remove paint? Cause when I use carb cleaner and get it on paint it usually gets soft and comes off. Just wanting to make sure that you don't mess up your paint.

John __________________ Big Blue ( John ) 79 Chevy Pick up.....My Dailey STILL Working on a frame up: 1987 Truck body on a 78 Blazer frame. Need cab blasted to start project. Got the cab BLASTED, Now Prep and Paint. Started to lay SOME BONDO and primer. Done, Ordering paint. Got paint, Stuff painted,Cab,Fenders, Hood more later. 9/7/2015 Got the clear coat on,now time to take one off. Started to put things back (What a nightmare) like the heating and AC stuff,inside wire harness, outside AC unit and booster, still more. May 2016, still working on the inside. Got duck work in,heating and AC. Radio (stock) in dash with after market in console later, Speaker are hooked up, Steering column is in. Getting ready to drop the cab onto the frame, Working on engine now since I have the room. Well here it is 2018, got the engine in and it runs, now I need to get the exhaust system in so I can adjust the lifters, to loud right now. Got the exhaust on now I am waiting for the break parts to come in.
