here I go again, I'm about to trade for an85 k1o, the guy that I'm geting it from blew the 350 . he put another motor in it, we can't figure out what it is -it has 13/16 plugs, and point ignition. he wanted to put the HEI dist in but the shaft on the oil pump is defferent, it runs great and strong. I can't see the casting numbers without pulling the motor, and don't wanna pull it while it's running . can anybody give me a hint on what it is - I thought all chevy s had the same shaft.

All small chevys should be the same as far as distributors are concerned . Take a look at the stamping that should be on the flat machined surface of the block just in front of the passenger side head . It should read like T0118CRE or something in that format . Send it to me and I should be able to tell you what it came from . Frank

some medium duty truck small block engines use a different oil pump drive.these motors have steel cranks,does the distributer have a vacume advance?
