Question What type of carb?

Hey guys,
I got a 71' project truck with a 307. What kind of 4 barrell carb will bolt right on?. It has a 2 barrell now. I wanted to go to the junk yard and look around for a Q-Jet or similar. Thanks

There isn't any type of a 4barrell that will bolt on to a 2barrell intake without installing an adapter. They do make these rochester adapter plates but It would be much more effective to just install a new intake.

Pick up a 4barrell intake but be leary of buy carbs from junkyards. If the thing sits too long it oxydizes the fuel and ruins the carb.

Zkast,
You're right about the intake. My project truck looks like yours!. Nice pics you got there. I wish the motor looked like yours!

Not that this helps, but I gave away my 4-bbl intake a few months ago, after installing an Edelbrock Performer. I have an Edelbrock 1405 (manual choke) square-bore carb that I pulled off and replaced with an Edelbrock 1901 (I think this is the right number) Q-Jet. I love it and I recommend it. Do what you have to do, tho.

Holley makes a 500cfm 2-barrel that will bolt on to your manifold. Also, I think the big American iron, like Olds, Buick, and Pontiac, used large two barrel Rochesters.
