Reproduction Tripod Mirrors
For those considering purchasing the "reproduction tripod mirrors" for use on 67-72 Chevrolet trucks, I do not reccommend based on my experience. The two that I purchased from a well known Chevrolet truck parts supplier out of Kansas were made in Taiwan. The legs of the tripod and the arm holding the mirror was too flimsy for adequate support. The mirrors will vibrate excessively on even glass smooth roads. The piece inside the tubing ends that accepts the threads is a "press fit" that is not strong enough. I even tried having it tack welded. If you have the original tripod assembly, the mirror part only from the reproductions will work okay. I bought, installed, and am now in process of replacing them totally!

As far as the mirror arm and ext. go goto a RV shop I got mine there and they are solid aluminum not the pressfit... I had a pressfit fold back against my window at 70mph that sucked MY .02 worth Jack
