If someone can explain to me the reasoning in this ebay listing, it would be appreciated. I am new to these trucks, so I may be completly in the wrong, but the seller states that the axles were 'swapped' on this 3/4ton 4x4 for the 6 lug versions to save on the purchase of wheels.....

Am I the only one who thinks this person is either full of

or has no idea what he is talking about....and only has a 1/2 ton on his hands with possibly a c/20 cab swap??

VIN Would be KE25 if it was originaly a 3/4 ton 4x4.

He has not a clue what it really is? Calls it a GMC but has Chevy Grill???\

Another used car lot slingin' pieced together trucks, and then "selling them for a friend"

This guy has a rating of 2, The owner of the truck (his friend) was too lazy or inept to fire up his own Ebay account? If the seller had a 500 with 99.9% positive then it would be beneficial for the "friend" to ask him to sell it, but a 2, I wouldn't buy a hubcap from him.

The truck is not as stated and he will probably fall back on the "friends" description and claim no liability for the errors in his description.

This seems to becoming pretty common on Fleabay

30K invested,and it has big lift blocks on the rear with homemade "traction"bars to controll the axel wrap,instead of putting on springs.

Hmmmm, the frame was powdercoated? If it was a "show truck" with a "powdercoated frame", why is there so much rust on the frame? Whats the deal with the inside of the bed? No show truck would have a bed like that. It's an awesome truck, I'd buy it for the right price, but like the other's have said, some of these evilbay descriptions are complete and utter

No show truck should be lifted with blocks like that. First thing I would do is get new springs and ditch them blocks.

Correct me if I am wrong, but should a vehicle with only 1,000 miles on a "frame off restoration" really be "showing its age" ????

Good call on the spring blocks smokekiki......they look a little uncalled for to me....with the rear that much higher with an already lifted truck, i would think this truck would be really....REALLY tail happy!

Just out of curiousity....a pole for those of you following the thread (and a little p.o. by the constant bs on fleabay). Did the owner
a.) actually spend 30k at a shop that took him for $15-20k too much
b.) got taken for WAY to much on parts
c.) paid approximately $10k for lift blocks and fair price for everything else
d.) found a really nice truck under a farmers tree, and slapped as much stuff under and on the truck to sell it on ebay to someone who believes its worth 30k?

I think you'd be surprised. I believe that it's possible. I probably have 5K in my truck with just the motor/tranny/front suspension rebuild/radiator/and various other parts. It's in primer that I did myself and it has junkyard white spoke rims on it. Bodywork and paint jobs are real expensive in my opinion, so, yeah, 30K is possible, but it sure does show an awful lot of wear and tear for a "show truck." Like I said before though, for the right price (probably around 8-9K) I'd buy it if I could afford it.

The Restoration was done about 5 years ago and is starting to show some age. It will need to be re-detailed and spiffed up again to bring it back to the show specs it once had. The paint is a Show Paint Job, but because of age it has a couple of areas that are starting to check. Nothing that I would worry about. However, if you wanted it to be that Perfect Show paint that it once was, it wouldn't take much to get it there
if it was done five years ago it doesnt take long for things to start showing wear specially if thye sit out side

They list that way to show up on search page. Do a search on Ford and this will show up even if it is a Chevy Or GMC.

The reason he doesn't know a damn thing about this truck is cause he's a DEALER!!! By the looks of things, he's real small time Used car dealer in Virginia.
I'm guessing he bought the thing and he's only going by what the PO told him, which by the looks of things was all BS.

A BSer BSing a BSer,gotta love it!Back to the original question.There are conversions to put 5 or 6 lug hubs on heavier 8 lug axles to save from changing wheels.Which I think is stupid,because if you`re spending all it costs to install 1t axles on a Jeep or something,then the cost of wheels is nothing and you`re comprimising the added tuffness you were looking for in the first place.But,on this truck,it has 1/2t axles.12 bolt rears are 1/2t and 1/2t only.They may have converted a 3/4t Dana44 to 6 lug,but it`s probably the 1/2t Dana44 that goes with the rest of the drivetrain.Either way,it`s a 1/2t.It sure is lame to put Ford in your heading as if someone going to Fords is actually gonna wanna see a Chevy sittin`there,hard-up,if you ask me.I think it`s a nice truck,had alot put into it,and is worth about what was put into the motor +/-.I also think it`s ignorance more than BS.The traction bars are a nice touch and would eliminate axle-wrap.Blocks aren`t evil,springs are nicer.But,the comment,what are they doing on a show truck,Why not?There are lots of things on show vehicles that are done just to get the "look".He saved enough money to install a serpentine set-up with March pulleys and has done alot of other nice things.In fact,I think it`s probably nicer than what most of the critics own.Just say no to jumpin`on the bandwagon.

JIMs70GMC user # 2756 Join Date: Jun 2001 Location: Chesapeake, Virginia Posts: 4,612	C. and I have some of those $10K blocks if anybodys interested, 2s or 4s. __________________ 1970 K25, 8' stepside bed 350/465/205 44 up front, 60 in the rear 4.10s rolling on 33" Dunlop MTs 1986 K5, 350/465/208 Dana 60/14 bolt from a cucv 36" Super Swampers TSL/SX 1983 K20 w/ CUCV axles, 350/700R4/208 sitting on 37" Goodyears 1986 M1031 6.2 diesel, TH400/NP205 locker in the rear and a LS in the front, all stock for now..... 1986 K30, 350/400/205 dana 60 and 14 bolt. I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm
