Disc dust shields?

Somehow I misplaced my dust shields from the '72 front end that I am installing onto my '70. I'm betting they aren't required to be there, but I'd like to put something back in place the way it was. I think I read something on here before where someone was able to take disc brake dust shields from another newer year pickup, and with a little modification they would fit into the 3 holes of the '72 spindle? I can't find that thread though, even using the google search of the site.

Here's a pic of what I'm talking about:

GMC Pauls

Contact GMC Pauls. You are required to purchase the shields separate when you buy the drum to disk conversion.

If I have to purchase new ones, I certainly will. I'm trying to save some dough, and if I can use other year shields from a newer pickup I will look around a junkyard, I probably have a better chance of finding these from a newer year.

Dust Shields

I think I paid $45 for a new pair when I purchased my conversion.

You might want to try posting a WTB (want to buy) on the 67-72 parts board. Someone might have an extra set lying around they could sell ya cheap.
