700r4 differences?

What are the differences between a 1984 chevy 2wd 700r4 and a 4wd 700r4? I assume the output shafts would be different, anything else? Can a 4wd 700r4 be converted to a 2wd 700r4?

The only major difference is the output shaft. And yes you can convert them either way.
