Tach Dash

"Factory gauge cluster with tach for 67-72 Chevorlet, GMC trucks and blazers. Has been restored inside and out.Tach face has been sand blasted and repainted gloss black with new marking installed. The markings are custom made and are just like the factory markings. Marking are cut out of white vinly, not printed on overlays. All gauges cleaned and painted as needed. Inside of bezels painted white to make gauges brighter at night. Back of panel and inside bezel has been sand blasted and painted, new stainless steel nuts added and all new bulbs. Lense polished to look like new. Speedometer has been taken completely apart, cleaned and lubricated, also reset back to zero. Circuit board is in good shape and is original not repo. Bezel has the hole for head lights, wiper and choke. Bezel is in good shape not cracked up. Bezel has been primed and painted black."

I bought this off of a board member, LAMAR. He did an excellent job on the restoration. I am installing a 05 5.3/4L60E in my 69 suburban and instead trying to make the old gauges work with the new stuff, I'm going to get Putter to build me a set with eletronic gauges. I've got $260 in them and would just like to get my money back + shipping.

Rob

Sorry, Lamar. Dash is awesome looking, you did a really nice job, however the more I researched on how to make everything work with the late model electronics, the more I realized I needed to go in another direction. Putter has built some really nice looking gauges using aftermarket components that will work better with my engine and tranny combo. Once again, nice restoration.

Glad you like the set, sorry they wouldn't work for ya. It would be a head ache to make them work with your set up. Sounds like you are going to have one hell of a nice ride. Send me some pics one day.

Lamar,

I just put airbags on the rear with a hidden hitch. I'm slowly working my way to the front. Here's a few pics.

Yeah, "rust free truck"! It's not as bad as it looks. Believe or not it's all external. No rust on the inside, not even the wheel lip. I believe the exhaust caused it. PO had truck repainted and the body man just put bondo over it causing it to rust more. Som of the bondo was still soft, it didn't even look like it had any hardner in it. I was going to take some better pics, but its raining.

Looks great, sits just about the right height. Drop my rear 6 inches and now can't drive it until I do the front, the drive shaft rubs the cross member. Got all the parts just can't find the time. Lamar.

I didn't realize that there was a difference in the dashes. Some have an extra hole for the choke, but the difference is in bezel. Striker69 is #1 right now. I wil contact him and make sure he still wants it. I can take bigger pics, what specifically do you want?

want to see the holes in the upper corners. on the suburbans, there was a second hole/knob marked rear ac. under the headlight knob. the wipers were on the right.

and does this have the vacumn gauge?

Yeah I still want it, but I would also like some bigger pics of it and maybe one of just the general back.

Yeah, Lamar (boardmember) did a great job. When I unwrapped it, I thought it was brand new! I will probably regret getting rid of it.

Left top - wiper/washer
Left bot - lights
Right Top - choke

Talk to you later.
