I just insured my truck through my american family agent. My truck is worth about 3000, I insured it for 4000. It will cost me about 145 per year. No restrictions. He said if I had valued it higher I might have to get it appraised, which costs about 75.

Sillyoldman, The agent never asked. I don't think it does. I just went through the policy and it reads like any other car insurance policy with the normal exclusions. It just limits the amount paid for loss of vehicle etc. because its to the stated value.
The premium for me was 131.70 for a year, 250.00 deductible for comp and collision. Sounded good to me. HG

Just a tip for all you guys doing resto's and frame offs,
I have "GQ" listed as "SUSPENDED" coverage, You can't drive it, but I have "GQ" covered against theft, fire, and tornados, also vandalism, etc... I have 15K of coverage for only $18 dollars a year, yes I said a year, no BS.

I have both of my trucks insured through State Farm. The K10 is insured for 20K and the C10 for 14K. The policy does not require them to be garaged. The mileage was checked when I purchased the policy but hasn't been checked since. As far as I know there are no mileage restrictions. It cost me around $120 every 6 mos on the K10 and $80 something for the C10. I had checked with Hagerty but they wouldn't touch me due to the fact that I don't have two additional vehicles aside from the trucks. They require one vehicle per driver aside from the ones that they cover. Also find out if you are getting "agreed value" or "stated value". Agreed pays "up to" your covered amount. "Stated" pays whatever the amount is on the policy.
