Rust is not going away soon
Depends on what you are wanting for your truck? Daily driver? Or Complete restoration? Depends on you? Looks like from the photos you would want to replace the floor pan sections sometime soon. As that rust is pretty bad from what I can see.

What does the underside look like? Are the cab supports rotted? If so, plan on replacing the supports, and splice in some new pans.
If the supports are good, you could treat the pan with a metal conditioner, then coat with por 15, and cover with a metal plate pop-riveted over it to pass inspection. Dave. Last edited by D Knaub; 06-27-2005 at 08:12 PM. |

It will be a daily driver. The bottom is pretty much the same. DO i have to weld it or can i rivet or screw it in(i know it the cheap way but...) I have an oxy/acet torch that i have never used. Would that be to hard for a beginer? I have used a mig to weld pipeing together for a while but sheetmetal is different, right. Thanks.

Use the mig and set the heat and speed accordingly per your chart. Be careful with that Oxy/Acet torch near gas and grease. Never NEVER cut or weld near grease it is explosive. My 2-cents worth rico_bob
