Sell it or keep it?

I built this truck while in highschool. I had a blast with it and never thought about selling it. Now 5 years later it never gets driven. Its just too impractical.( too big, bad mileage) Im caught between wanting to sell it or keep it. What do you guys think?

Someone out here has a lot more money to burn than you, I say sell and put it into something you can use/drive. Times change and so do projects, so take some good pics to remember her by and move on to the next one.

I agree with Burnout;I have a list of about 44 vehicles I wish I'd never sold.Too late to do it different. If you keep it,you can always park it out of sight and pretend it's not there until you feel like you need to put it back in service, but if you sell it,what're you gonna do when you start kicking yourself for ever letting it go?

I have never been fond of that body style.

That being said, this is one of the most awesome looking trucks ever. Wow. That thing is beautiful!!!!!!

Wow, nice truck !!! If it were mine, I'd hang on to it. Bad milage ? No such thing. To big ? never big enough, I say. LOL

I often look back at vehicles I had and kick myself for getting rid of some of them.
I know you can't keep them all, but this one to me is a Keeper !!

Best of luck in your decision.

if its paid for then keep it. if it doesnt get driven because of milage there are things you can do about that, but whats the point, its not made for milage, it never was when it was stock. LOL. it is a nice looking truck and i think you would kick yourself for getting ride of your toy. i know i am still. by the way, what year is your truck?

It is an '83, and I might be trading it for a different chevy. I hate to get rid of it, but really i am bored with it.

Why are you bored with it? Can you put some work into it so you enjoy, and can afford, to drive it regularly again? I had an '81 that I got rid of years ago, but I still miss it. I'm sure you can sell or trade out the stuff you want to change. I've gone through this decision process on other vehicles before, just figure out why you don't drive it, list your pro's and cons, and make your decision.
Personally, I think it's a really sweet truck!! After all that has been done, I'd keep it and modify for my changing taste and need.

Heres a pro and con list.
cons:
44's make street driving "not pleasant" Believe me ive had them for a few years.
and dont say "dont drive it on the street" theres streets and traffic everywhere.

Long beds dont fit down trails all that well. 7000# doesnt help either.

6-7 mpg really makes the cost of playing with it go up. even a small adventure will cost 30-40 bucks in gas.

Pros:
the truck looks bad azz. I always get compliments. knowing that you can go thruogh more mud than most trucks. calling a truck with 38's small.

To make it fit my needs alittle more I would need:

Trade 44"s for 38-40" tire. but they got to be wide (cutouts make skinny tires look funny)

Remove big block for a small block (that would suck, if youve ever owned a big block you know what i mean.)

Replace t-400 with 700r4. 1500 bucks to get it built right. (i got a core)

Talk the wife into letting me dump another 5 grand into it for the above mods.

i have a deal for you.

id give you $50 bucks for it. id be willing to deal with the bad gas milage and stuff .

seriously, if you have room for it keep it unless someone comes along and offers you a ton of money for it.

In theory we are gonna trade them straight up. That way we each get what we want. He wants to go smaller, and Im looking for bigger, plus we retain the appeal of a bigblock, a sweet looking truck, an something we can rely on for a DD or a trail rig. Just waitin to hear back from ya Shilo, an we'll go from there.
