73+ drop spindles on a 71/2???

What do I have to do to put a set of 73-87 C10 dropped spindles(1 1/4" rotors) on a 71/2 C10? Does it change the track width? Is it a direct swap or do I need to get diff. balljoints or control arms? How about tierod ends? Anything else?

Thanks!
Joe

Swap the upper ball joints, & the outer tierod ends, & the 73 up spindles will fit the 71/72. As far as track width......I dont think there is any difference, but not sure on that one. I do have 75 spindles on my 69, & dont see any problems........... L

The only difference in track width should be when swapping from drums to discs. You'll gain approx 1/2" per side. If it's already discs, there won't be a change unless the manufacturer of certain spindles states this info.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

You need a adapter sleve for the 73 tie rods. 67-70 outer on the inside and 73 outers.CPP sells the adapter sleve you need. Thats what I am using om the 67.
Mabye try using a center link from a 73n up truck if you dont want to shell out the money to CPP.

Only for 67-70. For the OP's 71-72, it's a direct fit on the tie rod ends.

Just curious. What's the benefit of using a 73 up as opposed to just buying one for your 71-72? Are you shooting for the 3" spindle? If so I don't know if all the other parts would justify the extra .5" of drop. I'm just asking a question, not trying to stir a fire or anything.
