Mirror placement

Can some one give me some reference measurements for the sport mirrors? Are they the same as on the truck?

Thanks,

Rob

The forward hole on the pass side is 8 5/16" from the front edge of the door. The forward hole on the drivers side is 7 1/16 from the front edge of the door. From there either use the mirror gasket as a template for the rest of the holes or you can figure out the rest from the copies of the GM Assembly manual I attached...

Anytime Rob! Oh, I did double & triple check the mirror measurements with both my burbs(both factory equipped with them) and also my replacement doors(also with factory mirrors) and they all came out the same with the pass mirror being mounted further back. I assume this is so it wouldn't be blocked by the vent window when viewing from the drivers side?

Bagged, can you take pics of your mirrors? Is the passenger one hard to adjust for the driver to see out?

Yeah, they're a PITA to see out of. Make sure you didn't do what I did and have the head upside down. Try rotating the head 180 degrees and see how it looks then. You won't have the same field of view that you did with the w.c. mirrors but they certianly do look better!

Oh, BTW, nice score on that 70'. I was watching it CLOSELY. I would love to have gotten that burb. Oh, I got a pick up now too so I'm ahead again! It's on this thread...

Bagged,

Can I count my 96 Caprice police special?!? I won't because I only bought it for the LT1/4L60E. I've got a really nice green Repo steering wheel, button and column when you get ready to restore the truck. Let me know.
