Drop spring and wheels sticking out question

So I am wanting to bring my truck down about 2-3" in the front. I currently have 3" DJM spindels and the 5" flip kit.

I am thinking of either purchasing some drop springs, or just trimming the ones I have.

What makes me wory a little is the fact that my front wheels already stick out a little farther than my rear wheels (They are stock rally wheels). Should it be like this, or is this somthing that the different spindels for the heavy duty brakes causes?

My question is- If I was to bring the front down by either cutting or using drop springs, will my wheels stick out even further? Oh, 85 SWB by the way.

If anyone happens have some experience with this, please let me know.
I am hoping to do this in the near future.

I know somebody has drop springs here. Did it make your wheels stick out closer to the fenders?

It's hard to tell from the picture but it almost looks like positive camber. Have you had the truck aligned recently. If not, it may fix it. My truck didn't do that when I lowered it, but it's a 68. Hope this helps some.

Yes it is aligned, the only thing that was off after installing the dropped spindels was the toe.

These trucks (73-87) track wider in the front than the back by about an 1" on each side. You'll need more backspacing in the front wheels. I don't believe the DJM's 1 1/4" drop spindles change the tracking.

I don't believe cut or dropped springs will change the tracking once you adjust the camber as a result of the lower springs.

In the picture, your front wheels seem to stuck out beyond the fenders. I don't believe rolling the fender lips would help. My guess is, unfortunately, they will rub.

Maybe, someone with experience will respond.

Do you know ir there are any options to get my wheels to tuck while still using the rally wheels, but without having to get new control arms or anything like that? I am not looking to bag it or anything at the moment I am just looking to get around a 5/7 to 6/8 static drop if at all possible.

I don't believe they make 'shorter' control arms even if you wanted to go that route. If you want to stay with rallys, you may have swap out your front wheels for narrower wheels. I'm not sure but I think the rallys off of the same era vans will work (15x6). low84 had an extreme static drop with rallys. It looked good.

Yeah, as love it loud said 5-7 dropped with Western Chassis. In the pic, I think he's running 255/60/15s on all four corners. I think he also tried 235/60s in front.

I had a pic of a static 6-8 drop, but I can't locate it for you.
