Rebuild Underway!
I started disassembling the 250 tonight, and I need a little help. I'm wondering if it would be easier to remove the engine with or without the transmission. It has a 3 speed. Any help from someone who's "been there done that" would be much appreciated.

I'm in the middle of rebuilding my 350 and I had pulled both at the same time. It is a lot easier putting everything back together out of the truck. I am, though, converting to a 350 turbo auto. I have always pulled both motor and trans. together. That way, you can replace any seals, clutch, bearings, etc. while it's out.......I'm hoping to get my mtr/trans back in the truck this weekend.......

It's always been easier to me to pull both together, you don't have to aggrivate with the bellhousing bolts and such.

I've done it both ways, but with a small 3 or 4 speed manual, or an auto trans 2wd,
it really is easier and better to pull both out at same time. 4wd or large granny low 4 speed, I would be inclined to just pull the engine only.

it's much easier to unbolt the trans when it's out of the truck. just pull them both at once.
