Found a mid-70's for a donor. I plan to swap the entire crossmember. Mine is a 1970 chevy c-10. Can I swap just the axle shafts in the rear, or is the housing different? Can I use the mid-70's booster and master cyl? Or do I need the older unit. I have manual drums now.

There are 2 different axel lenghts fo the '70 model year. If you have the longer ones you can swap em straight across.

The easiest way to do the m/c booster is to get a 71/72 m/c and proportioning valve.

what about a 67 are the axles different? I just bought a 72 donor truck

The 67 axels are shorter. I have herd of people either redrilling the axels for 5 lug or machineing spacers for the longer axels. Maybe you can use the whole '72 rear end?

Go with changing out the whole rearend Jamal. Get new u-bolts because your going to destroy the old ones and they are probably shot anyway. I did my 69 recently and I was a bear to get the u-bolts off until I got a compressor and a cut off tool. Like a hot knife thru butter.

Have a new set of chrome u bolts so no problem there. The only thing is I don't have the welding skill to weld the new brackets on.

As long as they are both the same type of suspension you shouldn't have to move the brackets.
