here's the current pics....in these pics, it has been buffed, rough, and final cut....

i had just finished hand glazing the front fender....just look at the difference of the fender to the door.....

it sits pretty cool, but really needs a few inches lower..

right now, i have it lowered 3/4 with shackle/hangers in the rear, and drop spindles up front......anyone know how i could gain like 2 more inches of drop front and rear?.....i was thinking 2" springs in the front....but i dont want to c-notch the frame....????

Yeah, I agree, it could go lower. Could go with 2" drop springs (or cough cough bags) in front. Do you think your front wheels will rub with a lower drop? Out back, you might get away with a flip kit. You would have about 2 1/2" clearence between the axle and frame. But, you would have to swap out your existing rear drop. Maybe, taking a leaf or two out and getting helper bags may get you lower in the back with your existing setup. Sounds like another project for another time. Uh, but why not get it to your liking.

Trim a coil from the front springs & sell the shackles/hangers & do a flip kit. A c-notch is not mandatory w/a flip kit.

A notch is mandatory w/a flip kit & drop shackles if the occasional bottoming out bothers you.

...i tossed the factory shackles/hangers....

what does a "flip kit" give ya?...could i do a flip kit with my lowered hangers, and just unbolt the shackles?

i think for the front, i'll just buy the lowering springs, so the geometry thing will be correct....its just the back that puzzles me as to what to do there exactly

A flip kit with the factory hangers and shackles gives you about a 6" drop. You'd have too extreme of a drop using your modifying hangers and shackles. Whether purchasing lowering springs or trimming the springs as Scoti suggested would both affect the front geometry. But, it shouldn't be too noticeable.

WoW...looks fantastic!!!!

Get 1 or 2 inch coils for the front, and take out the overload in the rear. If your truck is like mine and has the HD rear leafs, you can take out the overload and 1-2 add'l leafs...that should give you the other 2" of drop you want.

Now, want to come over and finish painting MY truck?

im interested in knowing what process you use goi from cured clear coat to final hand glaze? im guessing color sand 1500 or 2000 grit, followed by some kind of abrasive rubbing compound on a buffer, and then final hand glaze? looks great!

I happen to have a black truck and I also put House of Kolor flames on it. Black is hard to keep dust free, but it draws attention when you drive into a place with a lot of lighting.

man, thats one fine truck!....there was one something like yours today at a car show i was at....it had 20's, and chrome inner fenders....man was it sharp...sounded mean too

This one doesn't have chrome inner fenders (Those are for those that don't know how to keep paint clean). I have a custom tweed interior, an Alpine stereo (300 watts) with custom hand build door pod speakers, a 385 cubic inch engine with a 700 R4 tranny and 3.73 posi rear end. The exhaust is 2 1/2 inch duals with flowmaster mufflers. The engine is running a healthy Comp Cams roller cam, which gives a good lope. The engine compartment also has a "Be Cool" aluminum radiator, with dual electric fans. All of this under a fiberglass cowl hood.
