74 back on the road!!!! but need help with speedo gears - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Well after getting the rebuilt 2004r back int he truck friday i got it down the road on saturday and it was awesoome.. open headers, so my ears and hair were buzzing a little when i got back (put on about 10 miles) but it seemed to work good, still have to tweak the TV cable a little, but other than that all good... BUT the trans shop didnt have a chart for speedo gears for 2004r trans, SOOOO i gambled and thought the wagon this particular trans ( i know i said caddy trans b4 which is true, but i left the burnt cad trans in the truck and brought in another core that i had here outta a 84 olds delta wagon) may have had 3.23 or 3.42 gears which should been close... but nope gamble didnt pay off so now the speedo is bout 20 mph fast with my 3.73/31-10.5 combo... any info on what color/teeth gears i can put int his 2004r that will get my speedo close??? YOuve all got about 2 weeks to answer uz im actually leaving for PA to visit some freinds for bout 2 weeks.. ill try to check from local library there and i even have some parts connections there so answer away...but till then, ill see everybody back at the home puter round the 20th...

Congrats on getting it back on the road. It must feel nice to be close to having her road worthy once more.
