This is something I've been working on for a few weeks. It started as a LWB and after alot of cutting I came up with this. After looking at the first pic a few times it almost looks like a real truck...

This shot I can tell it's plastic.

Here's a shot of a rolled General Lee I made for the he!!ofit.

I see that you mated the bed/cab. Looks cool. Any shots of how you did the back of the cab/bed? Also, if you could, I think I read before that you "foil" the trim, could you maybe do a "model FAQ." on how you do that? Poor General. I went to the DUKE FEST at bristol last year and they jumped a general some 200 plus feet, looked like an accordian after!

That looks neat! Almost like a blazer with a halfcab! I made a Burb out of one of these kits. I have to get another to build a model of my new 72 Cheyenne Super! Is that "Testors" orange or did you mix it?

Now for the Foil FAQ:
BARE METAL FOIL
This stuff is amazing... I have used it for probably 15 years now and I am still amazed at the results. It is easy to use. First, make sure the area you are covering is clean and dry. The smoother the surface, the better it will look when done. Using an Xacto knife w/a NEW #1 blade, cut a piece of foil slightly larger than the area you are "plating". Use an old, soft tshirt or similar cotton material to gently press it in. Once you have it all set where you need it, use the t shirt to "burnish" it in, removing all wrinkles, ect... Again, with another new blade, VERY carefully trim the excess foil away. You can use the very tip of the blade to lift a corner to ease removal. You can leave it as is from there but I usually will shoot the final coat of clear on at this point(providing all the decals are applied...) Results are nice... Here's a pic of a model I built close to 15 years ago that I foiled the trim on. Can't tell to much from the pic but it looks sweet...

Thanks everybody, this has been a fun project so far. The bed was left as the pickup style as in no carpet or side panels,I'll get a few shots tomorrow. The rear of the cab was cut even with the top of the bed and to the door line, I don't remember how much I removed from the front of the bed but I can measure it, the rear of the bed had 1/4 on an inch removed, that's why it doesn't have rear side lights yet. I used the front bulkhead of the bed to make the lower half of the halfcab top. The color is Dupli-Color Chevy Engine Orange over grey primer. Bagged91 hit it right on with using Bare Metal Foil, the only thing I do different is use a Q-tip to press it on and burnish it down. The Q-tip also buffs the foil enough to give it a stainless look. So Douggy, what do you think after seeing the truck in person tonight???

Man, I'lle tell ya, it looks good. I never have anyluck using any paint other than model paint. It will flash on my every time. I even tried to airbrush it and it still flashed. Hmmm.... Maybe I'lle try it again.

I have used the Q tip technique too. It does give it kinda a S.Steel look. I used the "brushed aluminum" foil and did the entire inside of a nostalgia dragster body with it. Looks like it is a painted aluminum body(it is one of the front engine cars from the old AMT Fiat/Double Dragster kit...) You can see the car behind the 63' Tempest.

Probably a dumb question, but the foil y'all are talking about, is this something I have to buy special, or can I just use regular old wal-mart brand aluminum foil for cooking/storage, etc....???

the foil you are asking about is available at most hobby shops and it is called "Bare-Metal Foil". If you have a hobbytown near you, you should be able to find is there.
