Once again, the price game...
Allright heres the scope, its a 79 street crusier, bucket seats, power doors, a/c, tach, the works. BUT their is something fishy with the truck, its been sitting for like 2 years at a used car lot, I know that it does have some rust issues(what truck doesn't?) and it smells like they put karasone or something in the motor to help clean it out, the door panels are gone, and the interior gagues the clear plastic is faded yellow big time, and the other pieces are faded too. It has a nice paint job that I know is probally hiding a good bit of rust, its a short bed too. How much is it worth?

Sounds like it has been sitting there so long because they want too much for it. What motor? I would say no more than $1200.

454 with a turbo 400 trans, and the trans has a nasty oil leak. I think I am going to show up their in my GM dealership uniform and offer $500.

Its one in Silsbee, I can't remeber the name of it. I have one friend who bought from their and said to avoid it at all cost, but sence I am looking for a truck to do a fram off restoration on....whats a more convicning way to do a frame off than getting a truck that looks sorta ok. I looked at it again today, the body does have some rust issue(cab corners, rockers) But other than that the body looks pretty solid on it, the frame too, just Im almost certain the motor and transmission, and probally rear end are trash. Oh well, I got a complete drivetrain ready to go into it.

Dude this is Texas. Would you quit looking at rusted trucks and find a clean body. There has got to be a rust free shell somewhere out there with your name on it. Seek and ye shall find my impatient young brother....

Man I have been looking and around here I guess is the rust belt of Texas. I've been searching and searching and searching and still can't find anything. Im going to low ball them 500 for the truck and see what happens. If I part that truck out I can get over 500 bucks back(454 and turbo 400 transmission) plus the tach dash, and intermitent wipers. If you hear of any 73-79 trucks that are rust free short or long beds for cheap, let me know.

Can't go sat, got to return my brothers firebird to him. Man I love driving that car, I wish I had one, and a 1970 camero with the big grill and split bumpers, and a 70 Cuda, and a late 60's Charger, and a 00-03 camero. Maybe thats why I have such a hard time keep focused on the truck project...
