A/C drain on a 82 c 10 diesel, where is it
I have a 82 c 10 pick up and the A/C condensation is coming into the cab and flooding my passenger floorboard. I had it on a hoist and can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know where it is? Thanks Craig

I think the guy is asking where the water from the air conditioner condensation is at NOT the freon. I believe that these trucks are all the same, there was a small hole in the evaporator housing inside the enbgine comaprtment, they usually filled with dirt. Of course rage'nrat might be right about the green stuff (antifreeze)

you forgot to mention the $100,000 fine you get to pay if you get caught. his problem isnt with the AC operation anyways, its the condensation not properly draining. |

Let me see, I pay a fine if I get caught. Best not get caught, then. However, the average public does it every day somewhere. It is the garages and the HVAC repairmen that are monitored, somewhat. I have to admit, the odds are astronomical. Just think, if you live in South Texas, there are guys just across the border that can dump all of the freon to atmosphere that they want and R-12 is cheap down there. I and my son have worked with freons for awhole now and he has a license to buy R-12 and the like, so we do the right thing, but in the rural America, the gas police are far and few between.

Yes, I have water leaking inside my truck and on most newer cars there is a 90 degree elbow on it but I see no external drain for water at all. Thanks Craig

I have never noticed a tube drain or anything like you would expect on mine. Mine isn't a diesel, but they probably all use the same equipment. TYhis is assuming you have factory air and not the aftermarket stuff.
My assumption has been that is just drains out a hole in the bottom of the box under the hood. The water that comes out of mine seems to hit the frame nearly centered under the box. You might be able to see it from under the truck, or you might have to use a mirror to take a look under there. Good luck, Slonaker |

Sell the truck, the drain hole is plugged and it can't be good!!!!!!! Look on the bottom of the box for a hole.

I finally found it. I took off the inner fender and there was a liner over the heater box and it was under that. Maybe the liner is a deisel thing?? O well it's fixed.
