Talking Rubber patch....

No one probably cares but I'm excited.

I though I would take my truck out for a little cruise tonight since it hasn't moved in a week or so. I'm driving around and I get stuck behind this lil old lady. I finally get the chance to get away from her by turning right. When the light turned green I dumped the clutch and turned the wheel and laid my VERY FIRST patch of rubber with the truck going sideways . Scared the crap outta people walking on the sidewalk too .

I didn't think the little 250 had it in it. My dad was laughing and saying its about time you beat another truck besides mine.

Sorry for the little rant. It just feels good doing that for the first time in a new truck.

Mike

It's always nice to chirp the tires.

Hey Mike,
Congrats on your first patch of rubber...When I was in high school I had a 75 Chevy van, 250 w/a 3 speed. It wouldn't lay rubber in a straight line, but if you went around a corner is 1st and punched it, it would put down a nice patch. It's definitely exciting to do that for the first time, I remember the first time I did that I almost fell out of my seat sideways! Congrats.

Haha no pics but maybe someday.

It definitly can not do it in a straight line....I have tried many a times. It may chirp them and thats it. I was just annoyed at the moment and did one of those "I gotta get outta here now" moves. I didn't expect it to break loose. I was all smiles after that .

My dad's truck on the other hand, you could sit in the same spot all day and just leave smoke. Ask the cop who ticketed me when I was 16 .

I would like to catch a burnout competition at a show. I have seen a couple clips of the winners and it looks crazy. one I had seen they didn't stop until the tire was gone!

Wasn't sure my V6 had guts till I had to beat another car off the light and immediately get in his turn lane. Hadn't owned the truck for 15 minutes and had the a/c going full blast. Darn thing gimme whiplash off the line, then barked 'em in second too! Left everybody sittin'! Found out the 4.3 Vortec w/3.73 gears has plenty of torque, thank ya very much.

Those 4.3s shock quite a few people. It's a tough motor....it has taken sooooooooooo much abuse from me and has had no major problems yet.
