Wanted: drivers side Trailing Arm

I need a drivers side trailing arm. Surface rust is fine as I will be sand blasting, etching, and repainting it. My existing would work as a temporary solution since it is just starting to show signs of seperation. If some one wanted my bad one in order to keep a parts truck moving I would be willing to make it part of the deal. Also if anyone knows a way to fix these things, I'm all ears.

I have a few of them. May be willing to trade 5 lug rear plus trailing arms for your gmc grill. I need the grill for a core to chrome. It needs to have no rust holes through and no major dents. Let me know. Brian

I have a pair of trailing arms with surface rust. Nothing a nice blasting won't cure
I'll be at the Truck Nationals in Carlisle.
PM or email if you're interested.

Brian,
The GMC grille has no rust through but it does heve one dent on the passenger side where it looks like a bumper was bent back and tagged it. For a set of trailing arms and the 5 lug rear I'll give you the grille, a 69 GMC hood, and a set of GMC light bezels.

Let me know
David

David, have a pic of the grill (especially where the bumper tagged it)? I'm interested. Brian

I can get better pic's tonight these were taken before I removed it. The top bar is almost perfect. It has surface rust on the back side. I have other GMC parts I'm trying to get rid of also such as a bumper, emblems, Eye brows, Green interior parts...

Brian here are some more detailed pictures of the 69 GMC grille. I have one close up of the dent included. It is the only dent I can find on the whole thing.

trailing arms

David here is a pic of the trailing arms. Note the bend in the center. It should straighten out fairly easy with some heat and an adjustable wrench. Let me know. Brian

I really can't see a bend in the picture. Does it affect both or only one of them? As long as I can make one of them excellent I have the other one. I am looking at putting the early classic stiffiner plates on them, but I have to research that since I've heard that putting that kind of heat on these arms can cause them to warp. I may see if some one else on the board has messed with them and could maybe give me the Metal thickness used so I can make my own.

David, If you look at the lower trailing arm about 1/2 way acroos, the lower lip is slightly bent. No biggie. I made some stiffeners for a pro street truck I had a while back. I used 11 ga steel and stitch welded it. I didn't have any problems with warping. Brian

In the trailing arm reinforcement kit you can buy,the plate thickness is .133 thick.A friend bought the kit a few years ago!
