Anyone here have a Duramax truck with the towing package?

Hey guys!

I wanted to haul some scrap today, but when I tested the break away unit, it didn't work. I've spent the past couple hours troubleshooting the problem, and I've discovered that my father's Duramax is not putting out any power through it's trailer connector. All of the other wires work correctly, the trailer's brakes, lights etc are all fine, but it just is not providing 12 volts to the positive terminal in the connector. I checked every single fuse in the truck (whole lot of them, lol) and I cannot find the problem. It doesn't matter if the truck is running or not, no power at any time.

I've got the break away battery on my battery charger right now, and I plan to haul scrap anyways, but I was wondering if any of you guys might know about a fusible link or something that may have went that I don't know about (My father did a nasty hackjob installing the break away unit, and it must have shorted out or something)

Thanks!

Russ

What year truck is it? Did you check the fuses underneath the hood?

Yep, I checked every single fuse I could find on the truck by doing a continuity check between the two poles on the fuse (so I didn't accidentally reset anything or something, I dunno how those trucks feel about loosing all power to their systems!) everything checked out fine. Its an 03 by the way
