AM - FM question

I found an AM - FM radio in (I think) a 77 chevy van. I've heard some years may interchange? What is the dif from early van -vs- pickup? Does anyone have a pic of an original truck AM-FM?

Any info would be appreciated!!!!! Thanks

I don't know about vans, but I know trucks were way different in '73. Here's a pic of correct one from ebay.

WILL VAN RADIO WORK IN 72?

Do you know if the van radio will "fit " the stock opening in a 72 pickup? Other than knobs, are there any major differences? Will stock 72 AM radio knobs fit? HAS anyone used a van radio in their truck?

I dont even know if I want to use one for sure. ( not the best sound from what I remember of stock radios) ..... plus the kid at the yard thinks they get $75 for it. I DO like the looks tho. Any thoughts? THANKS!

If you dont want it buy it and Ill buy it off you.
It will fit the stock opening.
The lenght of the knob shafts are longer.
The lens you look through has different script.
A few differences, but better than an open hole.

im just wondering if you can put the shafts of an am radio in the van case, and buy a reproduction tumbler and chrome piece to in essence have a 67-72 truck radio with 77 van guts, maybe slightly better electronix???? comments???

For info, Hollanders shows 73-77 Vans (Chevy/GMC) use the same radio. The am-fm part number is 9343051. I would bet the aftermarket lens for our trucks would fit and the knobs should also.

The knob fits but when you put it all in the dash you recognize that the knobs are sticking further out.
You could file the lenght down just as easy. Use the regular AM radio to find the distance.
