I agree. Fugly. And the bonehead that decided to stop making camaros was probably the same bonehead that decided to stop making police package RWD Impalas, and Impala SS's. It makes sense to me! NOT!

If the public doesn't buy, the manufactures don't make. When I graduated High School, most guys dream was to have a Camaro/Firebird. Now it is a Tahoe with 20 inch rims. Times change. It is simple dollars and cents. GM held on to the Camaro as long as they could, but sales sucked.

I think the specs of that truck are awesome, but I hate the new front ends on those trucks. I like the Avalanche, but not on the truck style bed and cab. The older style looks sooo much better.

Somewhere there is article that lays out the new SS timeline. The one pictured is just the first in the line of the many of new SS trucks. There is still a 2WD 6.0 lilter supercharged planned. If I find the link I will let you guys know.Trust me when I read what they are planning, they are headed in the right direction and GM was the only car company that made money last year.I hope they can keep doing what they are planning.

El Camino?

Given the popularity of the new "old styles" like the PT Cruiser, and the new F@rd t-bird, should chevy re-design, and re issue the El Camino? DO you think it would sell? Would you look into getting one?

Hey, if GM put the Cadillac Northstar engine in a pickup they could put Ford out of business permanently. Everyone should acknowledge that GM's on-the-go push button 4x4 was a big advance.

The new Chevy SS-R pick up...V-8, 6 speed, rear wheel drive...and a removable hard top.
I only hope they keep the price down. Due out soon.
This thing makes me tingle..I got a model of it on top of my moniter.
Click the link for a butt load of thumb nails...doubt you can read it though...not in english. http://www.autotuning.cz/supersport/...r/chevyssr.htm

Fugly is right

GM may be moving in the right direction, but not on the looks of the new trucks. I usually don't have much opinion on something I cannot afford, but the new trucks just don't look good. It's much more exciting to see a nice 67-72 or even a nice 81-87 truck. I would rather pay $10,000 for a nice 87 with FI than pay $15,000 for a new truck. And there is no way you could even come close to one of those for $15,000. But I'm sure they will sell them. I see those avalanches everywhere.

As long as the insurance companies ( banks ) run things, you'll never see an affordable muscle car or truck from GM. Seems they are playing the political correctness, left coast, tree hugging, MADD, Rainbow Coalition, ect. game. They have no choice. We do not stand up for our rights like the lefties do. The sad thing, we're out-numbered now. It's gonna get worse. Our trucks are junk. Then what? just my 2¢
