Odd truck console???

I have had numerous factory truck consoles and this is one that i have held onto for around 8 years. It is the only one that I have ever seen that has no exterior screw holding it together, it is rivited on the inside. I have pulled factory buckets out of 69,70,71 and 72's and have never seen another one like it. maybe its a early production? a dealer replacement a rare prototype? LOL. anyone else have one like it? I'm quite curious on this and have wondered for several years.

It may have been taken apart and put back togethe that way, I also have one with rivets. My guess would be 69-70 got rivets 71-72 got screws, for the experts I did say guess.

I thought all the 73-6 had cup holders?
Tommy i don't think it was taken apart and put together that way, it has no exterior screw holes.

nope, in the mid 70's when the 3 point became manditory, that was when they went to cup holders.
I know 74 still had lap belts in pick ups...I'm thinking it was 75 or 76 when 3 points were required in light duty trucks.

I do consider my self an expert from 67-72, try me. But I think three point belts became factory in 1977, possibly 1976, an option until then, 1977 is the only year with yellow inserts on the outer moldings from 73-80. The first chevy V8, 1917 look it up. Not trying to be cocky but the amount of posts doesnt matter either way. I try to be polite and act stupid so that I dont get attacked it took me six years to join. Longhorn I was hoping you would not have answered all those questions I posted, you are the man. 1952 was the only year GM didnt offer a rear bumper, from 37-72 the only pickup with the factory gas tank under the bed was the 1948, workers didnt like it to easy to bust. I dont know it all but have learned a lot in half a century and would help anyone.

Just having fun, Tommy

EDIT: Longhorn, I think the color of the bowtie specifies years also, red, blue, yellow etc... Like the factory full cover hubcaps from blue to yellow.
