'69 K20 Parts Interchange Help
I have a '69 K20 with 350, Rockwell T221 xfer case, Eaton HO52 rear axle, closed-knuckle Dana 44 front (4.56's), and non-power drum brakes all around. I have a 4 wheel drive problem and am not sure if it is in the front diff, or the t-case.
Here's my Question: I have found a '76 K20 rolling chasis/cab that has a GM 12-bolt posi rear, open-knuckle disc brake Dana 44 front (4.10's), power brake booster and proportioning valve. Will these parts fit my '69??? I am not so much concerned with driveline length, but is the spring perch width the same on the '69 and '76??? Will the steering bolt up? Anyone that has a good knowledge of parts interchangability, I could really use some help here. Any info is much appreciated. Thanks In Advance . . . . Brian P.S. If the parts swap works out, is there anyone interested in this Eaton HO52 rear axle?

I dont know about the front differential....but I know on the rear that the perches for the springs are at a different width from 73-.....they dont interchange without moving the perches.....Paul

you will need to move the spring pads and one shock mount on the rear---if it's a 3/4 ton it should be a 14 bolt, not a 12 bolt. the e-brake cables will be too short also. the front is a direct bolt in but you'll need to adapt the brake lines for discs. the steering box off the newer truck is also a bolt in. it's really not a difficult swap. personally, i'd use a booster/master/prop valve from a 71-72 3/4 ton for ease of installation. all brake line adapters are readily available at your local parts house.
