FS: Van tilt and GMC tailgate ((SOLD))

Automatic van tilt: Missing shifter lever, shift indicator and pointer but the housing is good and the tilt mechanism is tight. ---$100 shipped to your door (SOLD c-1072)

GMC fleetside tailgate: several 1/8" holes from snap cover near the top and two 1/8" holes equally spaced on each side of the lettering (not sure why ) Maybe a couple small dings but otherwise pretty straight ---------$ 140 also includes ground shipping to your door (SOLD Tanker350)

My camera is MIA. I'll post pics when I get it back.

Shipping is to lower 48. *Please answer in thread first for dibbs*

Do you take Paypal for payment? If so, I might be interested in that van tilt.

I'm interested in the gate....Other than the holes, no rust or bends anywhere on it and pretty straight? Any bondo in it that you know of? Was this the gate that has the GMC stamped in it? I can also pay you with Paypal....

70GMCer..there is no rust holes. The only ding I could see sofar is the ding below the G in the pic. I'm not sure what the square gray patch is on the bottom right. I could sand it down when I have time. The two holes on each side of the GMC still have screws in them, that's why they appear bigger. I don't think the holes on top will show in the pics. I also notice bigger holes near the top back side, more than likely from a tailgate top protector. These are the only pics I could take this morning.

Strange thing happened when I sanded down the gray rectangular patch. Remember, all I had was extra fine wet steel wool. The gray turned blue and the surrounding blue turned gray, . Goinf over the rest of the gate lightly, I was able to feel 4 more dings. With the camo-like color it was hard to see at first and still won't show in the pics but I'll try to mark them in another pic later. This is all I have time for going home at lunch.

c-1072...Roberty said he *might* be interested ...so if turns it down or doesn't respond by tomorrow this time then your next in line.

Tanker...your next inline for the gate if 70GMCer backs out. I'll try to take rougher sandpaper to the funky looking areas to see if there is excessive bondo. Like I said in my PM's I can't tell with a magnet. It stuck much better on the tailgate than my fridge.

**In case I wasn't clear, all the red marks you see on the tailgate are where the dings are. I beleive the largest one is the one just above the handle. the backside has a couple visible dings in one of the pics. I find it hard to beleive there are rust holes in this gate. I've seen a lot of banged-up tailgates out here but have yet to run across any that has rust holes.

Greenhorn.....I'll pass for now on the gate....Let Tanker350 grab it. It sounds like he needs it worse than me. The U.S. Truck Nats are coming up in a couple weeks. Maybe I can score one there, and i'm within travel distance of that show. Thanks for all the info on this gate.......

promised picks

I was going to wait until later but I found my electric finishing sander with a sheet still on it so after about 40 mins I don't think it looks any better in the pics. While sanding the colors went like this: medium blue to gray to darker blue (metallic?), to black to bare metal, but while sanding the spots that looked like bondo in the first pics, I hit bare metal within a few seconds. I also was able to lay it flat with a straight edge on it. I would say this is a good driver tailgate, no rust through anywhere.

Tanker...let me know if you still want it. I'm getting real tempted to notch the bottom to make it a removable tailgate like someone had mentioned here on the board.

By the way, most of the light spots in the following pics is bare metal.

Am I too late for the tilt? I had to go out of town. Sorry about that. If it's still up for me email me your Paypal info to rkbky@catt.com and I'll get the $100 to you right away. If not, I understand completely. I had to go pick up an old truck I just bought.

Roberty...
Sorry, I didn't think you were that serious when you said you *might* be interested and not get back in almost 3 days.

I think at this point it is up to c-1072 if he would yield the sale to you. I feel it won't be fair to him after I've told him it was his.

I've sent him my Paypal address but haven't heard back yet. Maybe he's waiting for my response to you, and hopefully he would chime in soon after he reads this.

If he ends up with it, I'll give you first chance at the next one I come across.
